AXH is an early 20th century building located in a historic residential area in Madrid, Spain. Febrero Studio retained its original structural features and the historical spirit of the site it wanted to convey. They sought to use materials and atmosphere to allow the occupants to enjoy a stop while highlighting the owner's taste in the art collection.
In addition, the exterior walls of the house have been restored with blue texture paint, which is used as an element of colour that echoes inside and outside, and also appears on the decorative surfaces of the rooms inside the house. On the more historic ground floor, separate Spaces from each other due to previous renovations have been regrouped and arranged to make them more coordinated and unified, and the original staircases up and down have been preserved and restored.
FEC Apartment was renovated and renovated by Febrero Studio, which completely removed the original building, leaving only the load-bearing concrete pillars. To give the chaotic structure a sense of order, a central module is inserted to house all the air conditioning and heating equipment.
The "wooden module" area is like a large piece of furniture, in which the sofa is placed to maximize the living area. At the same time, the module also contains and hides doors that lead to other Spaces, acting as a divider between the kitchen, living room and dining room. Throughout the interior, the manchu floor was renovated and replaced in order to maintain a similar floor character to the original building and enrich its historical significance.
