VB Residence

空间的灵魂得以重塑

在安特卫普希尔德（Schilde）绿荫大道的绮丽风景之中，矗立着一座典雅的住宅别墅——VB Residence，它犹如一张空画布，被业主委托给了Grain Design之后，任其自由发挥。设计团队的目标旨在为这个年轻的家庭打造一处舒适的、个性化的理想家园。
In the midst of the majestic beauty of a green avenue in Schilde, Antwerp lies a stately residential villa--VB Residence. Once untouched, it was entrusted to Grain Design as an empty canvas. The goal was to create a thoughtful, cozy dream home for a young family, where both the exterior and interior underwent a contemporary transformation.


建筑外立面依然保留着古典而宏伟的原始特征，但一进入室内，空间就呈现出一种轻盈的、敞亮的、宁静的氛围。虽然没有拆除任何的墙壁，但每个功能空间都在现有的布局中找到了新的合适的定位。虽然建筑结构保持不变，但空间的灵魂却重新被塑造。
The facade still carries the characteristics of classical grandeur, but once you cross the threshold, the space embraces a lightness and spaciousness that evoke a serene atmosphere. Although no walls were demolished, each function found a new position within the existing layout. In short, the architectural structures remained intact, but the soul of the space was recreated.

若说Grain Design设计的空间有什么独特之处，那就是一种永恒的失重感。暖色的墙壁、无固定形式的家具，以及空间氛围有如蜿蜒的河流缓缓流淌，相互交错。他们采用强烈的对比方式，利用色彩、纹理、家具和材料的特征和巧妙地组合来消解现有建筑的不利因素，诚然如Grain的建筑师所说的那样，“它就像经典的外壳之中有着性感的内核”。
If there’s one thing that defines—and unites—spaces by Grain Designoffice, it’s an enduring sense of weightlessness. Walls the colour of sunlight. Furniture in amorphous shapes. Rooms that flow into each other like slow, meandering rivers. They dared to go big with contrasts, offsetting the existing architecture with a quirky and sophisticated mix of colours, textures, furnishings and materials, until, as the architects put it, “it revealed itself as a sexy kernel in a classic husk.”

Indigo Apartment

北海上一颗靛蓝色的珍珠

Grain Design受邀于比利时的诺克（Knokke）为他们的业主重新设计这套尺度有限的度假屋。这座60平米的房子可以俯瞰比利时的北海，它被业主称之为“北海上一颗靛蓝色的珍珠”。室内有一间主卧室、两间浴室和一间带双层床的儿童房，因此，如何巧妙地利用空间显得尤为重要。
Grain Design was asked to redesign this compact holiday home for a family in Knokke. Renovating this small 60 sq.m apartment overlooking the Belgian North Sea ultimately revealed an indigo pearl. With one master bedroom, two bathrooms and a kids room with bunkbeds, smart usage of space was of course all the more important.


厨房是度假屋的核心区域。中央大理石岛台的独特造型与公寓独特的形状相互映衬，它不仅是烹饪的地方，还可以解读为“vide-poche”（闲适之地）——即聚会社交的场所。岛台上的定制书架不仅创造了开放式的展示机会，还增添了空间的趣味性。
The kitchen is at the core of the retreat. The central marble island - which got its unique form by embracing the unusual shape of the apartment - is more than just a place for cooking; it also extends to a ‘vide-poche’, or a place to gather for drinks. Custom shelving creates openness in the space and opportunity for display.

从入口开始，天然的皇家紫石材就为空间奠定了基调，它对整个公寓的配色有着关键性的作用。在没有樱桃木装饰的立面，石灰饰面营造出柔和的哑光效果，令人倍感亲切。Terra地板被铺设于室内各处，使空间之间能够自由地流动，同时满足海滨区域的业主对于耐磨性的要求。

The material palette immediately sets the tone from entry, confronting visitors with the Royal Purple natural stone block. It dictates the color scheme throughout the whole of the apartment; translating into stained cherry paneling and deep blue hues. Where cherry wood isn’t dressing the walls, the tactile lime finish creates a soft matte effect for extra intimacy. Terra floor was placed throughout the apartment for easy flow from one space to the next and as a hard-wearing material to accommodate its visitors on the beachside location.
